Guest Post: The Closet by Christie

Hey guys!  Today Christie from The Closet by Christie and I are doing a blog swap.  She is going to tell you a little about herself and a recent trip she took that sounds amazing!  While Christie is hanging out over here I'm over on her blog talking about all the Coachella fashions from last weekend, so make sure to go check me out over there.  So without any further ado here's Christie:

1. Tell me about your blog. 

The Closet by Christie is your '9 to 5 Style Guide!' It's a blog for the twenty-something woman beginning a  career and wants to incorporate her trendiness into everyday life at the office. I post office-wear looks, how  to style guides on trends, and even office etiquette advice. I also have a fashionista dog, Paisley, that loves to feature her own looks on the blog!

2. What is the last thing you bought? 

LC Lauren Conrad jeggings from Kohl's.

3. What Pinterest board do you pin to the most? 

'The Look Board," my board that features my favorite Polyvore looks!

4. If you could get on a plane tomorrow and go anywhere, where would you go? 

Back to LA! I just got back from a Los Angeles vacation and Lucky FABB West, the Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference hosted by Lucky Magazine, last week. The spring weather in NJ is beautiful right now,  but I'm missing palm trees!

5. What is your favorite item of clothing or accessory? 

I'm currently obsessing over blazers!

6. What is your guilty pleasure? 

Reality television!

7. What is your favorite dessert? 

I love them all! Particularly ice cream, cheesecake, and tiramisu.

8. Chocolate or Vanilla? 

Vanilla.

9. Sun or Snow? 

Sun.

10. Sweet or Salty? 

Sweet.

Fun Fact: The blue and white striped awnings behind me belong to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where the movie Pretty Woman was filmed!

I recently traveled from New Jersey to Los Angeles for Lucky FABB West, Lucky Magazine's Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference. My first day in Los Angeles was filled with sightseeing. The highlights were Rodeo Drive, a fashionista's dream, and Mulholland Drive, a must-see for any traveler.

For this first day of sightseeing, I kept my look preppy and casual. My entire look was from one of my favorite stores- Kohl's. I wore a blue striped Chaps No Iron top. I have several of this same top in different patterns and it's perfect for traveling. It advertises 'no iron' and they mean it! It was in my suitcase for my six-hour flight and I was pretty active the entire day I wore it. Even as I was unpacking, I noticed it still had no wrinkles. It's amazing! I highly recommend getting a few of these for business trips. 

I paired the top with LC Lauren Conrad denim jeggings. They are so comfortable and look just like jeans! I also wore a grey Jennifer Lopez asymmetrical faux leather jacket. This was a great jacket for the trip because it matches with everything and was the perfect weight for the lovely California weather.

One of the accessories I wore was my light grey Elle bow crossbody bag from Kohl's. This was the perfect bag for sightseeing and traveling because it's small and drapes across my body. I was happy to not have to hold anything but a camera!
