Today I have my second set of photos from my day at the Acropolis in Athens (I shared my first set in this post last week!). These are pictures of the site itself, and the breathtaking views of Athens that you get from the top of the Acropolis.
The day we went to the Acropolis was gorgeous, but very hot and windy. The views of the city from the top were just incredible, it felt like you were on top of the world. I'm glad that we had a tour guide for this site, as it was interesting to hear all the history of the Acropolis throughout its existence and then to get to explore it. When I was there I felt like I could just feel the history around me. We made sure to walk around, check everything out, and take a lot of pictures. In my post from last week I talked about the walk to get to the Acropolis and how crowded it is, which you can see in these pictures. Another thing I found fascinating was to see all of the tourists from different countries and how they acted; I always find it intriguing to see how different cultures react in different situations. There were so many things to see and learn at the Acropolis and I am so happy that I got to visit this amazing place.
Next week I'll have pictures from my stay on the Greek island of Mykonos!

ReplyDeleteAthens has been on my bucket list for such a long time and I still haven't visited it. Though hot weather isn't exactly mine so I'm looking forward to seeing some "refreshing" pictures of Mykonos from you next week! ;) Few places seem to be more beautiful than the Greek islands....
