I love it when I see other bloggers share their routines and I haven't shared mine in a while so I thought it would be fun to share my morning beauty routine. If you know me then you most likely know I am not a morning person, because of this on days I have class I have a very streamlined routine so I can get out the door as quickly as possible. My best time saving tip for other non morning people is to shower at night because that will cut a huge chunk out of your morning routine. On these days I do a basic makeup look that focuses on clear skin, lots of lashes, and sometimes a strong lip. Below I have for you my everyday routine!
WASH: I started using Simple Micellar Cleansing Water at the beginning of last semester and I absolutely love it. All I have to do is saturate a cotton pad and wipe my face and neck off with it. My skin is super dry and this is a great way to gently "wash" my face without drying it out. Since using this I have also been able to cut down my routine a tiny bit because it is definitely quicker than washing my face with cleanser and water.
MOISTURIZE: I use a lot of moisturizer for daytime in the winter to hydrate my dry skin and help to protect it from the elements. What I do is press (yes press, not rub!) a few drops of Nude Skincare Progenius Omega Treatment Oil onto my face and neck; this oil really helps to give my skin a pretty dewy glow. I then mix Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with a few drops of Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water in Fair and apply that to my face; this combination gives my skin a nice sheer wash of color, adds more moisture, and adds sun protection.
HAIR: If I didn't wash my hair the night before (I wash my hair every few days) I hit the roots with Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical, rub it in, and brush it through. This soaks up any oil and gives my hair a nice coconut scent. I'll then style my hair, which typically includes running a flat iron over it.
TEETH: I'm kind of a freak about dental care and brush my teeth every morning with my Sonicare Toothbrush and Colgate Optic White Toothpaste. If you're looking for a good whitening toothpaste I have been using this one for years and highly recommend it. I also absolutely love my Sonicare toothbrush!
CONCEAL: I have a three step system to apply concealer under my eyes to help with the dark rings I have. First I apply three dots of Benefit Stay Don't Stray in Light/Medium, which is a concealer primer, and blend it with a concealer brush. For the next step I lightly apply Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Industrial- Strength Full Coverage Concealer in Light under my eyes, blending with the same concealer brush, and at this point I also apply it to any blemishes or red marks. The last step is to lightly apply Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder also with the concealer brush. This system helps to cover up rings and brighten under my eyes.
MASCARA: I've talked about CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black on here quite a few times before because it is my favorite mascara. It adds volume to my lashes, doesn't clump, and lasts all day. I curl my lashes and add two coats of mascara to my top lashes and one coat on my bottom lashes.
BLUSH: I use Benefit Cosmetics CORALista to add a nice healthy flush to my face. To apply it I smile and put it on the apple of my cheeks and up my cheekbones with a blush brush.
LIPS: On most days I stick with a simple lip balm on my lips, one of my favorites is Kiss My Face Organic Lip Balm in Coconut Pineapple. If I'm applying a lip color I'll first line my lips with Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Lip Liner in Transparent and then I'll put on a color, lately my favorite is NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in Train Bleu.

ReplyDeleteI am very careful about the cosmetics I use since my skin is so sensitive. I can't describe how liposomal glutathione has changed my life. I've seen a significant increase in my skin's health and shine after including it into my skincare regimen. It's delicate but effective.
