I made gluten free red velvet cupcakes & cream cheese frosting, & then I made regular yellow cupcakes & chocolate frosting. We had blue starred cupcake wrappers with red & white cupcakes: hello patriotic! They made a huge hit & I will be sharing the frosting recipes soon.
Saturday:
Party day! Saturday was my younger sister's graduation party, so we got a huge tent, some super yummy food, some fun adult beverages, & had a bunch of people over. The party was a blast. The food was delicious, we had sausage & peppers, balsamic chicken, cavatelli & broccoli, penne vodka, salad, & semolina rolls. Hello Italian masterpieces! I was a fail & didn't take too many pictures because I was having so much fun. It was great to chat with people I hadn't seen in a while. My parents good friend's parents came to the party who are so sweet, they are a little older maybe in their 80s, the wife is so cute & a little fashionista, well she decided she was going to make some new friends & was hitting on my sister's guy friends, it was the funniest thing ever. Well, here are some of the pictures I did manage to take:
The giant tent.
Coolest ballon I've ever seen. My sister's college's slogan is 'Big Fish, Little Pond' & their color is red, so this was perf.
My adult bev of choice.
My pretty sister & me. I wore a black romper I got at Nordstrom BP. section, & Steve Madden, pink sandals with gold chain detailing.
Poor little Coco had a bit of a traumatizing day. First, she was terrified of the tent, then she had to go to the groomer, then she hated the ballons & then she was very overwhelmed with all the people. She was so exhausted when everyone left!
Sunday:
Sunday was our day to chill. I wanted to hang out with my mom because I'm trying to spend as much time with my family as I can before I go back to school. My mom & I did a little shopping, & then had some fro yo for lunch!
Then we hung out, watched some TV, & ate some left overs from the party. This was a much, much better day for Coco, & a great ending to the weekend.
What did you do this weekend?
High five for cupcakes , yum! Lol the fishie balloon !

Thanks Noor! :)
DeleteI love baking when I am home alone! I wanna try to make gluten free cupcakes! Looks good
ReplyDeleteIt's more fun when you can blast your music & dance around while baking! William Sonoma makes great gluten free cupcakes, but don't try Betty Crocker's gluten free cupcake mixes they taste like pure chemicals. Gluten free baking really isn't too hard & with most of my recipes I put directions for the gluten free alternatives. My one suggestion would be though if you don't have to eat gluten free I wouldn't make them just because it is a little different then making regular ones, & most gluten free food has more fat to make up for the lack of gluten, which is a total bummer :(. Let me know if you have any questions, kristin.thomp22@gmail.com, I'd love to chat baking!!
